WAEC Timetable 2026 for Science Students in Nigeria

WAEC Timetable 2026 for Science Students in Nigeria

The WAEC timetable for science students in Nigeria is one of the most important things to check early if you are preparing for WASSCE 2026. Once you know your papers, dates, and time, it becomes easier to plan your reading and avoid last-minute confusion. The official WAEC document is the final international timetable for school candidates in Nigeria, and it contains the full schedule for the 2026 examination.

This science students version is meant to help candidates who want to see the subjects that are most relevant to science combinations in one place. That includes the main science papers like Biology, Chemistry, Physics, General Mathematics, and Further Mathematics, but it also includes other subjects that many science students may still register for, such as English Language, Civic Education, CRS, Islamic Studies, French, Arabic, Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Geography, Government, Economics, Agriculture, Digital Technologies, Technical Drawing, Computer Hardware and GSM Repairs, Solar Photovoltaic Installation and Maintenance, and Health Education / Health Science. All of these subjects appear in the timetable you shared.

One thing students should understand is that this is not only about the five popular science subjects. In real WAEC registration, science students do not write only Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Mathematics. Some also offer a Nigerian language, some do French or Arabic, some do Geography, Economics, or Government, while others register for technical or science-related electives depending on their school. That is why this kind of post is useful. It helps science students check not just the obvious papers, but the other ones they may also be sitting for from the same timetable.

Important: If the duration shown on the question paper is different from the one on the timetable, candidates should follow the time stated on the question paper.

WAEC Science Students Should Not Check Only One Subject

One mistake many students make is checking only one subject and then leaving the page. That can be risky. The timetable shows that several dates have more than one relevant paper for science students. For example, Monday, 1 June 2026 contains Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Studies, and Physics. Tuesday, 2 June 2026 contains Civic Education and Agriculture. Thursday, 4 June 2026 contains Government and Agriculture Practical. Wednesday, 17 June 2026 contains Biology Practical and Economics.

That is why it is safer to read the timetable by date, not just by subject name. A student may open the page because of Physics and forget that another subject he or she registered for is also scheduled close to it. When the timetable is arranged properly and carefully checked date by date, that mistake becomes less likely.

When WAEC 2026 Science Papers Start

For science students, the timetable begins showing relevant papers from the period of Monday, 27 April 2026 to Friday, 8 May 2026, when Arabic 3 (Oral) and French 3 (Oral) are listed among the papers whose exact date and time will be arranged by the Council. That means students offering those language subjects should not assume everything will be fixed only by the public timetable. Their schools may still need to inform them of the exact arrangement.

The first clearly fixed subject dates relevant to science students then begin appearing from Tuesday, 12 May 2026, when Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo are scheduled. From there, the timetable continues through May and June with science papers, compulsory subjects, and other electives that science students may offer.

Main WAEC 2026 Dates for Core Science Subjects

Science students will pay the most attention to the main core papers. The timetable shows that Chemistry 3 Practical Alternative A is on Wednesday, 20 May 2026, while Chemistry 3 Practical Alternative B is on Tuesday, 9 June 2026. Then the main Chemistry 2 Essay and Chemistry 1 Objective papers are fixed for Thursday, 11 June 2026.

Physics 2 Essay and Physics 1 Objective are scheduled for Monday, 1 June 2026. After that, Physics 3 Practical Alternative A comes up on Monday, 15 June 2026, while Physics 3 Practical Alternative B is on Thursday, 18 June 2026.

For Biology, the timetable shows that Biology 2 Essay and Biology 1 Objective will hold on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, while Biology 3 Practical is on Wednesday, 17 June 2026.

Mathematics is also clearly placed in the timetable. General Mathematics / Mathematics (Core) 2 Essay will hold on Wednesday, 3 June 2026 from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon, while the objective paper will hold the same day from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Further Mathematics / Mathematics (Elective) is scheduled earlier on Thursday, 21 May 2026.

English Language and Other Compulsory Papers

Even though this is a science students article, English Language remains one of the most important papers on the timetable. WAEC fixed English Language 2 Essay and English Language 1 Objective for Wednesday, 10 June 2026, with the Test of Orals also holding later the same day.

The timetable also shows Civic Education on Tuesday, 2 June 2026, which is another subject students should not ignore. Depending on the student’s registration, Christian Religious Studies or Islamic Studies also appears on Monday, 1 June 2026.

This is why students should avoid thinking that science means only science papers. In WAEC, there are other subjects around the main science core, and they also count.

Nigerian Languages and Other Language Subjects Science Students May Offer

Some science students still offer a Nigerian language in WAEC, especially depending on school rules or subject combinations. The timetable shows Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo on Tuesday, 12 May 2026. It also includes French on Friday, 15 May 2026, as well as the oral paper period from 27 April to 8 May. Arabic is scheduled for Friday, 29 May 2026, with its oral paper also placed in the earlier arranged period.

So if a student came to this page expecting to see only Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, that would be incomplete. Science students who registered for a language subject still need to watch those dates carefully.

Other Subjects Science Students May Still See on Their WAEC Timetable

The timetable also includes several other subjects that may still matter to science students depending on what they chose during registration. These include Agriculture, Geography, Government, Economics, Nigerian History, Digital Technologies, Technical Drawing, Computer Hardware and GSM Repairs, Solar Photovoltaic Installation and Maintenance, and Health Education / Health Science.

For example, Agriculture appears on Tuesday, 2 June 2026 and its practical comes on Thursday, 4 June 2026. Geography is fixed for Friday, 5 June 2026. Economics comes on Wednesday, 17 June 2026. Government is on Thursday, 4 June 2026. These are not always the first subjects people mention when they talk about science students, but some science candidates do register for them, so it makes sense to keep them inside a complete science timetable post.

Public Holidays Inside the Timetable

Another important thing students should notice is that the timetable already marks some public holidays. Friday, 1 May 2026 is listed as Workers’ Day. Tuesday, 26 May 2026, Wednesday, 27 May 2026, and Thursday, 28 May 2026 are marked for Eid-al-Adha, with 27 May also carrying Children’s Day. Friday, 12 June 2026 is marked as Democracy Day.

These breaks are useful, but students should not use them as an excuse to relax too much. In fact, they can serve as extra revision days before the next papers.

Important WAEC Note Science Students Must Not Ignore

At the end of the timetable, WAEC added an important instruction that all students should take seriously. It says that if the duration shown on the question paper is different from the one on the timetable, candidates should follow the time written on the question paper.

That note matters because many candidates depend only on copied tables or screenshots shared online. During the examination, what is printed on the actual question paper is what should be followed if there is any difference.
